Postdoctoral Position

£27,428 – £35,788 pa
Limit of tenure: up to three years.
Electrophysiological research on multidrug transporters.
A post-doctoral position is available for up to three years in the research group led by Dr Hendrik W. van Veen. This group studies the molecular mechanisms of recognition and transport of chemotherapeutic drugs by multidrug transporters from pathogenic bacteria and tumour cells. The project aims to apply electrophysiological techniques in studies on inorganic ion and drug transport by the human Breast Cancer Resistance Protein (ABCG2) and other ABC exporters. The project is funded by the BBSRC.
Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals, capable of thinking and working independently, with experience in molecular electrophysiology and the biochemistry of membrane proteins. Candidates should have or shortly expect to obtain a PhD in a related subject.
