Description of the research project/area of research
We are offering one postdoctoral position in the field of Lymphoma research, working in the group of Professor Birgitta Sander and Associate Professor Birger Christensson. The projects within the group is on the molecular pathogenesis of lymphoma with a special focus on mantle cell lymphoma.
The main focus of post-doctoral position will be to conduct research projects aiming to unravel the cellular and molecular dysregulation in the lymphoma cells of patients with mantle cell lymphoma and other hematological malignancies. The project will have a focus on transcriptional regulation of cell survival and cell death pathways (Wang et al. PLoS One 2010, Sander et al. Int. J Cancer 2008).
Qualifications of the applicant
The applicant is expected to be a talented and highly motivated researcher and he or she is expected to play a leading role in experimental design, experimentation, and presentation/publication of results.
The candidate must be able to work within a team environment.The successful applicants will have:
- A PhD (or equivalent) degree in the fields of Molecular Biology, or a related area with significant experience in hematological malignancies, immunology and/or gene regulation.
- Demonstrated abilities in experiment design and interpretation.
- Expertise in methods relevant for research on transcriptional regulation, molecular interactions and gene expression such as cell transfection, transcription factor-DNA interactions and sequencing and bioinformatics.

In the assessment of applicants special weight will be given evidence of academic skill, demonstrated communication skills, proficiency in the English language and a strong publication track record.
Form of employment:
Scholarship for 2 years with the possibility for an extension.
