Post-doctoral positions in Axon Regeneration and Neuroprotection

Postdoctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Dr. Yang Hu in the Shriners Hospitals Pediatric Research Center (Center for Neural Repair and Rehabilitation) at Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia. We study intrinsic growth control of CNS neurons and explore the mechanisms of axon regeneration and neuroprotection after CNS injury or in neurodegeneration diseases, using transgenic mouse injury and disease models.
We are looking for highly motivated candidates who has recently obtained their Ph.D. or expects to obtain one in the near future, and with an excellent training in neuroscience, molecular cell biology, biochemistry or medicine. Experiences in surgical techniques, histology, imaging, microarray/deep sequencing and animal related in vivo experiments are desired. The positions are for an initial period of 3 years and are available immediately.
The laboratory is situated in the new Medical Education and Research Building surrounded by several excellent labs focus on neuronal injury and repair. The center is a highly collaborative working environment with state of the art core facilities including 2-photon and confocal microscopes. We are located just minutes away from downtown Philadelphia.
