Established officially in 1903, Central China Normal University (CCNU) is one of the oldest colleges in China. CCNU is located in Wuhan, the capital city of Hubei province, which spans the Yangtze River. In its early days, many visiting professors came from America to teach students, a tradition that continues today.
Our present student enrollment is close to 30,000, among which over 10,000 are postgraduate students and 2700 are international students. There are 94 doctoral programs and 184 master’s programs in a wide range disciplines including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, science, engineering, agriculture, management and art, with its strength in basic disciplines and a distinguished feature in teacher’s education.
