美国威斯康星大学麦迪逊分校生理学系招聘博士后
Two postdoctoral (research associate) positions (or at the level of academic scientist in research track) are available immediately in the Department of Physiology at the Medical School, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Our research focuses on molecular mechanisms, signaling, and systemic physiology of energy metabolism and related diseases, including diabetes, obesity, aging and related cardiovascular and degenerative diseases (Nature Medicine, 11:183-90, 2005; Cell, 119: 285-98, 2004; Cell, 2008, in revision; Nature, 2008, in submission). The central nervous system (particularly the hypothalamus) and multiple peripheral organs (skeletal muscle, liver, fat, pancreatic islets) are all targeted intensively in our research. We employ comprehensive approaches and advanced techniques at cellular, subcellular, molecular, genetic, engineering and animal (mice and rats) levels.

Successful candidates must possess strong independent research abilities with ambitious scientific interests, self motivation and the ability to work effectively with a team. They will lead at least two exciting, high-impact research projects (funded by the National Institute of Health and American Diabetes Association). A strong background and abilities in molecular biology (such as advanced techniques in molecular engineering and advanced abilities in analyzing DNA and protein information) are highly desired for one position; and strong animal experience and abilities with rodent brain techniques (such as brain surgeries, stereotactic cannulation, anatomic dissection and analyses using chemical dyes and immunostaining) are highly desired for the second position. However, we emphasize overall research abilities and potential rather than specific techniques.

Successful applicants will be offered a generous salary and benefits, in addition to being a member of a high-quality research team and collaborative research environment.
Applicant should email his/her CV, personal statement and reference list to:
