德国埃尔兰根纽伦堡大学招聘离子液体表面科学博士后

The Cluster of Excellence “Engineering of Advanced Materials” (CE-EAM) and the Chairs Physical Chemistry II (Prof. Steinrück) and Chemical Reaction Engineering (Prof. Wasserscheid) invite applications for the

Full Position as Postdoctoral Researcher in the Field of Ionic Liquid Surface Science (1 year, extension possible, TVL E-13 / A 13):

The successful candidate will work at the Chair Physical Chemistry II in the ionic liquid surface science group (actually two senior scientists, four PhD students) supporting the ongoing fundamental and applied research projects on ionic liquid (IL) surfaces and interfaces. Experience in surface science techniques with focus on photoelectron spectroscopy is required; experience in ionic liquid science would be very helpful. The application of highly qualified young scientists is encouraged.

Belonging to the leading groups in their fields, both chairs combine advanced surface science methods (in particular, X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy techniques) and ionic liquid chemistry at one place in a close collaboration. Current projects involve topics such as composition, molecular orientation and electronic structure of neat and functionalized ILs, IL mixtures and solutions and ultrathin IL films under UHV and also under reaction conditions, all with a special focus on bridging fundamental and applied research.

The Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nuremberg (www.uni-erlangen.de) is among the top-ranked universities in chemistry research in Germany (www.forschungsrating.de). A unique environment in terms of cutting-edge research is provided by the newly established Cluster of Excellence (www.eam.uni-erlangen.de). Within the present announcement, we offer leading-edge projects in highly motivated workgroups, state-of-the-art equipment and excellent working conditions (further information: www.chemie.uni-erlangen.de/steinrueck, www.crt.cbi.uni-erlangen.de/index.shtml).

We expect outstanding flexibility and commitment, as well as the capabilities to work independently and in a research team appropriately; basic knowledge of German language would be helpful. The University of Erlangen-Nuremberg is seeking to increase the proportion of women in research and teaching and therefore strongly encourages female scientists to apply. Candidates with physical handicaps will receive preferential consideration provided all other qualifications are equal.
