A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Antonio Sarikas at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology (IPT), Technical University of Munich (TUM), Munich, Germany.

Project description

 

The Cullin7 E3 ubiquitin ligase plays an important role in growth control and was linked to growth retardation syndromes in humans (1,2). Our laboratory has identified insulin receptor substrate-1 (IRS-1), a critical mediator of insulin and insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) signaling, as the proteolytic target of the Cullin7 E3 ligase (3).

 

The aim of this project is to study the role of Cullin7 mediated degradation of IRS-1 for growth regulation and its implication for CUL7 linked growth retardation syndromes.
