This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious Post-doctoral Research Associate to work at the interface between evolution and reproductive biology. This project explores the energetic costs of making sperm. The work will be performed in a large, high profile 5* research department with a strong commitment to research-led teaching
The position is funded by the European Research Council (ERC) to study the costs of making sperm. The overall aim of the project is to understand how sperm phenotype influences fitness.
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or equivalent experience) in avian reproductive biology and a good track record of publishing in leading specialist or multidisciplinary journals. A strong background in evolutionary biology would be desirable.
The post is fixed-term with a start date of 1st April 2011 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and an end date of 31st March 2014 with a possibility of an extension subject to funding.
