Applications are invited for a 4-year post-doctoral position in the cell biology / screening laboratory of Prof. Jeremy Simpson at University College Dublin. The successful candidate will develop and apply automated high content screening microscopy combined with systematic gene knockdown approaches to identify and understand the molecules associated with various intracellular trafficking pathways in cultured mammalian cells.
The laboratory is fully equipped with appropriate cell screening, imaging and molecular biology facilities, and is located in the School of Biology and Environmental Science, UCD Science Centre, at the heart of the campus. Applicants should have a PhD in biological sciences / biochemistry / cell biology or related discipline, but no more than 2 years of post-doctoral experience. Experience in mammalian cell culture techniques, DNA/RNA transfection, fluorescence microscopy, cell-based assays, and laboratory automation would be advantageous. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to research and production of high quality scientific publications, and should possess excellent communication and organization skills.
