A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Temple University School of Medicine. The focus of this research is geared towards understanding the mechanisms that contribute to immune dysfunction secondary to substance of abuse, and how such alterations affect host immune response to chronic viral infections including HIV-1/AIDS. Qualified candidates should have received a recent Ph.D. and/or M.D. in Immunology, Microbiology, Molecular biology, or related fields. Applicants must be highly motivated, able to design and carry out experiments with minimal supervision. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in immune function assays, FACS analysis, molecular biology, tissue culture, mouse handling and infectious agents.
