欧洲化学和生物学研究所招聘细胞生长分化博士后

The Position

A postdoctoral research position is available in the Cell Growth and Division laboratory at the European Institute of Chemistry and Biology (IECB). The project will provide insight into the mechanisms that coordinate cell growth and cell division, a central problem in cell biology. The candidate will use budding yeast to explore how membrane trafficking dynamics and Rho GTPase activity are modulated during the cell cycle. Since the project will involve the purification of GTPase regulatory proteins, experience in biochemistry would be ideal, however, the demonstration of other relevant skills will also be considered. The candidate will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of researchers using complimentary approaches including chemical genetics, high speed in vivo imaging and biochemistry.

The Institute and Research Environment

IECB is located in Bordeaux, France. This modern research institute houses 16 young teams with expertise in the field of membrane/lipid biology and chemistry, with which the candidate will have the opportunity to interact. The Cell Growth and Division laboratory has access to the cutting-edge technology platforms available at the University of Bordeaux 2, providing state-of-the-art mass spectrometry, structural biology and microscopy facilities.

Candidates interested in applying for the position are encouraged to send a short cover letter outlining their research interests, achievements and goals. Please also include your current cv, providing the names and contact details of at least two referees who can be contacted for references. The position is available in January 2010. Closing date for applications is November 25th.

Please send applications to Dr. Derek McCusker (mccusker@iecb.u-bordeaux.fr).
