A postdoctoral position is available at the University of Cincinnati Cancer Center, College of Medicine to study transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of gene expression in cancer
Studies from past decade have uncovered the key roles of a remarkably diverse and increased complex array of tissue- and gene- specific transcription cofactors in gene regulation. These cofactors regulate gene expression through modifying individual histones (including acetylation, methylation, demethylation, ubiquitinylation, etc.) and overall chromatin structures, or by directly sending signals to the transcriptional machinery. We are utilizing a combination of state-of-the-art in vitro biochemical assays (with purified factors) and cellular analyses approaches to decipher their roles in tumor initiation and progression through characterizing structure and function of the cofactors and their associated proteins, the interplay and synergy among the cofactors, and their crosstalk with growth factor signaling pathways. Moreover, we currently have a strong emphasize on in vivo functional characterizations with two of our most recently generated knockin and knockout mouse models. Through these studies, our goal is to provide novel insights and therapeutic targets for early detection, prevention and individualized treatment of cancer
Interested applicants should have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with research experience in biochemistry, molecular or cellular biology. Prior experience in animal studies is a plus. Salary is competitive with full benefit. Please send your complete curriculum vita with the names of three references, or inquiries to
