Applications are invited for a Neurobiologist/Cell Biologist with a strong background in Light Microscopy and basic knowledge in Molecular Biology techniques. We investigate the molecular mechanisms regulating the formation of synapses, using the neuromuscular junction as an experimental paradigm. To this end we use genetically modified mice and muscle cell lines, employing molecular, biochemical, histological and electrophysiological tools, as well as functional genomics (see e.g. Escher et al. (2005) Science 308, 920-923)..
Applicants should have a PhD in cell biology. molecular biology, or biochemistry. We offer a position in an exciting environment at the Pharramazentrum/Biozentrum. Applications from highly motivated candidates with a strong interest in competitive research must includinge a description of their research interests, detailed CV and two letters of recommendation. They should be sent to: Susanne.Blank@unibas.ch
