Postdoctoral Researcher (Reference 13815)
Postdoctoral Researcher in Optical Spectroscopy, Thermoelectrics and Devices on Wide Band Gap Semiconductors
Based in the Applied Spectroscopy Group, this postdoctoral position is focused on an exciting new class of wide band gap semiconductor material, namely boron-arsenide, which with its 100% radiation hardness offers unique possibilities for future applications such as in space electronics. Its unique properties, which are only partially known, will be explored in this project using optical spectroscopy (ellipsometry, photo/electroreflectance, etc.), electrical and thermoelectric characterization, device demonstration and material modelling (using off-the shelf simulation codes).
You should have or be about to gain a PhD in physics, materials science, engineering or a related area and a strong experimental background in semiconductor materials. The position is available immediately for a minimum period of two years.
