Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position at the Institut Curie (Paris, France) in the group of Dr. Angela Taddei studying the compartmentation and dynamics of nuclear functions. Current work of the lab focuses on determining the spatial and temporal behavior of chromatin and how this affects two essential functions of the genome: gene expression and the maintenance of genome integrity. To understand these fundamental processes, we are using yeast as a model system to which we can apply genetics, molecular biology and live advanced microscopy techniques (see Taddei et al. 2006, Nature 313:1408-1413).
The project aims at mapping cis- and trans- interactions of an inducible gene depending on its expression status. This will be achieved by Chromosome Capture Conformation (3C) analyzed by deep sequencing and further confirm by live microscopy. The candidate should have a strong background in molecular biology. Candidates with previous experience in yeast biology, genome-wide analysis and/or statistical analysis will be favored. Applications including a CV, names and contact details of three referees and a summary of current and future research interests should be submitted by e-mail to:
