Postdoctoral position for a candidate interested in developing bioinformatics software and conducting comparative genomics research is available at the Computational Biology Branch of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI), National Institutes of Health (NIH).
This position will combine evolutionary studies of genome sequence conservation, population genetics, and web-based software development (see www.dcode.org for examples). Strong C/C++, PHP, MySQL and Javascript skills are essential. Practical experience with AJAX, Dojo, CSS and Java will be a plus. Candidates with computational, physics or mathematics background interested in exploring bioinformatics are also encouraged to apply.
Successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field and less than 5 years of postdoctoral experience.
