We are searching a highly motivated Postdoctoral to join the newly formed group led by Dr. Daniela Cota, focusing on the study of energy balance regulation and obesity, within the INSERM Unit 862, at the Neuroscience Institute F. Magendie (http://www.inb.u-bordeaux2.fr) in Bordeaux, France.
The group’s research is focused on the study of hypothalamic circuits and intracellular pathways involved in the regulation of energy balance and in the development of obesity. The project aims at further characterizing how nutrients modulate hypothalamic circuits and how pathways regulating cellular metabolism might become dysregulated during exposure to high fat diet and development of obesity. Molecular biology, rodent models and biochemistry techniques are the main research approaches for these studies.
Candidates should have a doctoral degree in molecular biology, neuroscience, or related field. Ability to work both independently and cooperatively within a team is essential. Experience with obesity animal models, rodent surgical procedure or molecular and cell biology is preferred. The successful candidate will be funded for a period of at least two years.
Starting date: May 2008, or later.
Please send your application (in English) including curriculum vitae, list of publications, a short summary of previous research, and names of two references to Dr. Daniela Cota (cota@bordeaux.inserm.fr ).
