A postdoctoral research position is available to study cellular and molecular mechanisms of alpha 1 anti-trypsin in the development of emphysema with focused projects ranging from post-translational modification, structural modifications, endocytosis, protein-protein interaction, and signaling. The applicant will join the laboratory of Irina Petrache, M.D. which is one of many highly interactive groups located in the Center for Immunobiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine – www.cimb.medicine.iu.edu. Individuals should have strong backgrounds in cellular and molecular biology and signaling mechanisms. Experience in mammalian tissue culture and animal models are desired but not required.
