The Dundr laboratory at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science is seeking a motivated and creative candidate for one postdoctoral fellowship to study 1) the molecular mechanism of the nuclear actin in repositioning of active genes (see J. Cell Biol. 2007, 179, 1095) and 2) how biologically important structures are formed and maintained in the cell nucleus. We use live cell imaging and state-of-the-art microscopy techniques in conjunction with molecular methods to address these cell biological aspects of gene expression. Candidates must have experience in molecular biology techniques. Microscopy expertise (FISH, image analysis) is a strong asset. This University is situated in a suburban location only an hour North of the excitement of the music, art, theater, food and sports of the heart of Chicago. Applicants with a background in gene expression are particularly encouraged to apply.
