BIOMATCELL VINN Excellence Center of Biomaterials and Cell Therapy, is a 10-year research program, hosted by the University of Gothenburg and supported by VINNOVA and partners of the Center.
The vision of BIOMATCELL is to become a global leader in the research and development of innovative medical devices based on biomaterials and cell therapy. Our mission is to generate and provide new ideas, knowledge and educated individuals in the field of medical devices and regenerative medicine.
BIOMATCELL offers a creative environment with excellent opportunities for crossdisciplinary research, spanning from materials science to pre-clinical and clinical research. Current research projects are focused on the development of new materials, the understanding of interactions between materials and biological systems and the exploration of material – stem cell interactions.
Post-docs and PhD students will also benefit from the participation in the recently awarded BIOSUM Interdisciplinary Research School in Biomaterials, including tailored courses in biomaterials and regenerative medicine, entrepreneurship, innovation, product development and an international mobility program.
