Postdoctoral Position is available for a recent graduate with Ph.D. degree in Physiology or Pharmacology to investigate the contribution and the underlying mechanism of action of vasoactive agents and growth factors to cardiovascular physiology and pathophysiology (restenosis, atherosclerosis and hypertension).
Experience with the utilization of techniques of measuring cardiovascular hemodynamics in vivo and/or in isolated perfused heart, vascular reactivity in pressurized vessels (by video microscopy) and micovessels (wire myograph) in vitro is essential. The work will also involve the use of siRNA of various signaling molecules cloned into viral vectors and viruses, transgenic animals, SDS-PAGE, protein analysis, DNA and mRNA measurements PCR, RT-PCR,Q-PCR, and immunofluorescence microscopy.
