A postdoctoral position in plant genomics is available immediately in the laboratory of C. R. Buell in the Department of Plant Biology at Michigan State University (http://buell-lab.plantbiology.msu.edu/). The Buell lab is focused on genomics and bioinformatics of plants and plant pathogens; please see publications from the Buell lab (http://buell-lab.plantbiology.msu.edu/publications.shtml) and a list of funded projects (http://buell-lab.plantbiology.msu.edu/funding.shtml) for more information on the Buell lab.

The candidate will work on funded projects involving structural, functional and comparative genomics of the Solanaceae (see http://solanaceae.plantbiology.msu.edu/, http://solcap.msu.edu/) and work with bioinformatics staff, lab technicians, and students within the Buell laboratory. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in whole genome shotgun sequencing of potato, transcript profiling using next generation sequencing, genome annotation and analyses, and translational genomics.

A Ph. D. degree in plant biology, genetics, genomics, and/or bioinformatics is required. Experience in Solanaceae and/or genomics is preferred but not required.
