英国布里斯托大学招聘物理学博士后

Based in the Department of Physics, you will join our team in the Correlated Electron Systems Group, working on the physics of frustrated and/or low dimensional systems. In particular, you will be employed as part of a project to use electrical and thermal transport measurements on single crystals to search for new forms of quantum order. The materials to be investigated are unique in their behavioural aspects and represent the cutting edge of materials physics. This forms part of an EPSRC funded research programme and will involve working closely with Professor N.E. Hussey with strong theoretical support provided by the group of Dr. N. Shannon. The research will be conducted both in Bristol and at international magnetic field laboratories in Toulouse, Tallahassee and Nijmegen.

You should have a Ph.D. in physics and experience with very low temperature cryogenic systems and high magnetic fields. Experience in the measurements of the electrical and/or thermal transport properties, a background in strongly correlated electron physics (including superconductivity), and experience with performing measurements on small single crystalline samples are all desirable but not essential.

If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or a permanent contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience. Further information can be found at http://www.bristol.ac.uk/personnel/ftc/
