美国宾夕法尼亚大学招聘博士后

A postdoctoral fellow position is available at the University of Pennsylvania to study meiotic recombination, chromosomal synapsis, small RNA biology, and spermatogonial stem cells in mice. Our group focuses on the study of germline stem cell development and meiosis in mice and humans. Because of the presence of a fascinating population of adult spermatogonial stem cells, men produce sperm through their lifetime. Meiosis, a cell division unique to germ cells, allows the reciprocal exchange of genetic material between paternal and maternal genomes. Our research interests include molecular genetics of spermatogonial stem cell renewal vs. differentiation, chromosomal synapsis, DNA double-strand break repair, homologous recombination, and genetic causes of male infertility in humans (Yang et al., Genes & Dev., 2008;22(5):682-691; Zheng et al., BMC Dev. Biol., 2009;9(1):38.). More information about recent publications can be found at our website http://www.vet.upenn.edu/FacultyandDepartments/Faculty/tabid/362/Default.aspx?faculty_id=4485292

Candidates with a recent/expected Ph.D. or an equivalent degree should have a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, mammalian cell culture, or mouse genetics. Anticipated start date is December 1st, 2009 and can be flexible. Highly motivated individuals with at least one first authored quality publication are encouraged to send a cover letter, CV, and names and contact information for three referees to: Dr. P. Jeremy Wang, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA 19104, USA. Email: pwang@vet.upenn.edu
