A position of postdoctoral research fellow is available in the laboratory of Jaehyung Cho in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Illinois-Chicago, College of Medicine. We are currently focusing on the role of thiol isomerases in vascular diseases such as thrombosis.
 
The research fellow is expected to utilize various techniques including, but not limited to, multi-fluorescence intravital microscopy to monitor expression kinetics of target molecules in injured arterioles and venules of live mice, flow cytometry, flow chamber assays, confocal microscopy, protein-protein interaction, and generation of knockout mice.
 
The following issues are prerequisite.
 
1) Experiences in platelet and/or leukocyte biology
 
2) Publications in international journals
 
3) English knowledge in communication and manuscript preparation.
 
Applicants with surgical skills in mice and knowledge of microscopy will be a plus.
 
The PI will help the applicant develop his/her career by providing an interactive research environment and by encouraging the preparation of research papers, application of fellowships, and participation at national meetings.
 
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. All highly motivated applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of specific technical skills.
