英国利兹大学招聘博士后

The postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) positions are available to study fundamental processes in the Escherichia coli cell envelope, funded through the BBSRC LoLa scheme. The postdoctoral post will use a range of microbiological, biochemical, biophysical, structural and single molecule-based approaches to investigate how antibacterial colicins translocate into bacterial cells, focusing on their parasitisation of outer membrane receptors and their contact with the proton motive forced-coupled Tol assembly in the periplasm and inner membrane. This interdisciplinary, inter-institutional programme is led by Colin Kleanthous (York) and is in collaboration with Sheena Radford and David Brockwell (Leeds) and Jennifer Potts, Christoph Baumann and Marek Brzozowski (York).

Post 4 will be based in Leeds. The post will be available from Dec 09/Jan 10 and are funded for three years in the first instance, with the potential for a further two years support thereafter. Specifications for each post are summarised below:

Post 4 – Single Molecule Force Spectroscopy (Leeds – Ref: 316184)

This PDRA will investigate energy dependent processes and protein-protein interactions at the E. coli outer membrane using AFM.

PDRA candidates will be appointed within the salary scale £28,839 – £33,432 per annum.

Informal enquiries may be made to Professor Radford (s.e.radford@leeds.ac.uk; http://www.astbury.leeds.ac.uk/People/staffpage.php?StaffID=SER)
