A postdoctoral position is immediately available in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Arkansas to study the molecular mechanisms of influenza A virus replication and virus-host interactions. The objective of this project is to understand virus replication processes and how important viral proteins interact with human host cellular factors. The principal duties of this position are to use proteomic methods to screen human cellular proteins that are involved in influenza A virus replication/host anti-viral responses, and use biochemical, molecular, and cell biological methods to characterize the biological functions of those identified proteins. A strong background in virology and molecular biology is required. Research experience in proteomics is preferred, but not required.

 

Successful, highly-motivated candidates with a Ph.D. in appropriate discipline are expected to have a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
