Postdoctoral researcher position available immediately in the Department of Neuroscience at Ohio State University to study the role of glutamate transporters in neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer's disease, ALS, and epilepsy. The main focus of research will be to characterize newly identified glutamate transporter activators and to test the activators in animal models of neurodegenerative diseases. The trainee will gain experience in translation of basic research into new therapeutic approaches as well as drug development. The position requires strong training in molecular, cellular, biochemical, and animal techniques, including immunohistochemistry, cell culture, RNA analysis, protein analysis, and animal behavior analysis. Candidates should have a PhD degree with major in neuroscience or molecular/cellular biology.
