A Postdoctoral position is available in the newly constructed state-of-the-art University Hospital-Cancer Center of the New Jersey Medical School (Newark Campus) to study the molecular mechanisms of telomere dysfunction induced senescence in mammals. Projects will identify the signals and pathways that lead to telomere erosion and dysfunction in human cells and will analyze the consequences of DNA damage signaling at telomeres in mammalian cell cultures and in tissues.
A Ph.D., obtained within the last two years and a strong background in cell biology or molecular biology is required. In addition, the successful applicant must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with cellular senescence, mammalian cell culture, and animal cancer model systems is advantageous.
