美国加州大学洛杉矶分校招聘博士后

The X. William Yang Laboratory at UCLA (http://yanglab.npih.ucla.edu) applies novel mouse genetic, genomic, and systems biology approaches to study the pathogenesis and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders including Huntington's disease (HD) and Parkinson's disease (PD), and to study the development and function of the neuronal circuitry of the basal ganglia (e.g. Gu, Neuron 46:433, 2005; Lobo, Nat Neurosci. 9: 443, 2006; Lobo, Nat Neurosci.10:1395, 2007; Gu, Neuron (in press)). We are seeking to appoint an NIH RO1 grant funded postdoctoral scientist to lead an exciting research project to use a Cre/LoxP conditional BAC transgenic mouse model of HD (Gray, J. Neurosci. 28: 6182, 2008), and to develop novel HD BAC models in order to dissect the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying selective neuropathogenesis in HD. The study will use the latest BAC transgenic technology, behavioral and neuropathological phenotyping, and state-of-the-art genomic, proteomic and network biology approaches. The applicant should have a Ph.D. or equivalent in an appropriate field such as neuroscience, mouse genetics, or functional genomics. A successful candidate should be an ambitious scientist with great enthusiasm in research, strong prior publication record, high scientific standard, excellent communication skills, and outstanding work ethics.

To apply for the position, please send your letter of application, full curriculum vitae, and the names and addresses of two references to Binh Vuong (BLVuong@mednet.ucla.edu) and Dr. Xiaofeng Gu (xgu@mednet.ucla.edu), or fax (310)-794-9613, or mail to Center for Neurobehavioral Genetics at 695 Charles E.
