The Statistical Genetics laboratory of Kyriacos Markianos, Ph.D., part of the Program in Genomics at Children’s Hospital, Boston, seeks a post-doctoral fellow to join in an effort to identify rare variants responsible for Autism related phenotypes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with family and population based samples. Computational challenges include analysis of high density SNP chips and large scale re-sequencing.
The lab focuses on the development and software implementation of methods for genetic analysis in human and model organisms. Active areas of research include multipoint linkage analysis in large families, population genetics and natural variation of mosquito malaria resistance.
Previous experience in quantitative genetics, in particular population genetics is highly desirable. Experience in Scientific Computing is required. The successful candidate is expected to work independently and interact with collaborating Harvard Labs. Familiarity with C/C++, Perl and statistical analysis software like S-plus or R are highly desirable.
