Description:
Post-doctoral position in the area of metabonomics and tumour metabolism. The position will be funded by and sit within the Oncology area and will initially be for a fixed term of 2 years.
Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
You’ll play a key role in developing our metabonomics capability, working in a multidisciplinary team of scientists progressing novel anti-tumour agents into the clinic. You will be responsible for implementing a LC/GC-MS based metabonomics platform for profiling, identifying and quantifying metabolites in cell and tissue extracts. Knowledge in the database support and pathway analysis of metabonomic data will also be required.
Minimum Requirements –Education and Experience:
• PhD in metabonomics. Analytical chemist with interest in Biology -ideally with specific expertise in tumour metabolism.
• Knowledge of mass spectrometry and metabonomics technology is essential.
• Expertise in GC-MS and LC-MS methods.
• The drive, ambition and skills to take a leading role in developing metabonomics capability and deliver mechanistic insight into the action of novel anti-cancer agents.
