Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a 3 year fixed term Post Doctoral Fellowship, in synthetic organic chemistry to work under the leadership of Professor Antony Fairbanks. The post will involve extensive synthetic organic chemistry in the carbohydrate field, and will span several research projects. Additionally the appointee will have supervisory responsibilities for junior research group members, and will also be encouraged to develop their own research projects. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in either synthetic organic chemistry, or alternatively in an aspect of chemical biology or medicinal chemistry with extensive experience in organic synthesis. In addition they must already have at least four publications in international peer reviewed journals since 2006.
The successful applicant must be able to take up the position by 1 June 2011, or as soon as possible thereafter.
