上海交通大学是我国历史最悠久、享誉海内外的高等学府之一，是教育部直属并与上海市共建的全国重点大学。经过118年的不懈努力，上海交通大学已经成为一所“综合性、研究型、国际化”的国内一流、国际知名大学。
上海交通大学生物医学工程专业成立于1979年，目前已建设成全国名列前茅的生物医学工程专业。经过多年的发展，生物医学工程学院已形成了生物医疗仪器、神经科学与工程、医学影像与信息、纳米生物材料、系统生物医学和生物科学等多个学科方向。上海交通大学具有国内领先的临床医学，并积极推动转化医学的研究。学院将借此机遇，进一步提高学术水平，增强临床转化能力，直接造福于患者。学院有专任教师60余名，有一半以上教师拥有海外一流大学的博士学位，已初步建成一支国际化高水平的教师队伍。同时，学院也拥有国际接轨的高水平的博士和硕士学位培养计划。每年有近150名学生进入学院攻读学位，学院还与美国、欧洲的一流大学共同设立了双学位项目。通过暑期和秋季海外学习项目，每年都吸引了一批国际学生来院攻读。
Position of the Dean
School of Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University
Shanghai Jiao Tong University is one of the major national universities in China directly managed by the Ministry of Education and jointly supported by both the central government and city of Shanghai. After 118 years, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has become an internationally recognized research university covering all major disciplines with an international faculty of high caliber.
Biomedical Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was established in 1979 and has been consistently ranked in the top three in the nation. At present, the research in the school includes biomedical instrumentation, neuroscience and engineering, medical imaging and informatics, nano biomaterials, systems biomedicine and biological sciences. Shanghai Jiao Tong University has the best rated programs in clinical medicine and is committed to translational research. The school is expected to take the advantage of this opportunity to further develop its abilities in research and to enhance its translational programs with the explicit focus on improving patient care. The school has about 62 full time faculty and more than 50% were trained overseas. Additionally, the school has also established dual degree programs at both the master’s and PhD level. Every year, about 150 students (undergraduate and graduate) are admitted to its degree programs and many are eligible for international exchange programs with universities in the US and Europe. In the summer and fall, the school also has several programs to attract foreign students to study in Shanghai.
To further develop the school and to achieve international excellence, Shanghai Jiao Tong University is seeking highly qualified applications and nominations for the position of the Dean of the School of Biomedical Engineering.
Compensations: Appropriate start up and compensation package will be offered based on the University’s regulations for senior faculty recruitment, including competitive salary, supplement bonus for the position, housing allowance and research support.
