美国罗兹韦尔公园癌症研究所招聘博士后

A new postdoctoral position is available for modeling Down syndrome/trisomy 21 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI). Down syndrome is one of the most important human genetic diseases. We have recently developed a novel mouse model of Down syndrome trisomic for the entire 22.9-Mb human chromosome 21 syntenic region on mouse chromosome 16 (Hum Mol Genet, 2007, 16:1359). Our immediate efforts will include the generation of additional mouse models of Down syndrome using Cre/loxP-mediated chromosome engineering and in-depth characterization of the new models. Our objective is the identification of the critical genomic regions and ultimately the causative genes for the major Down syndrome phenotypes (For details, see our webpage: http://www.roswellpark.org/Research/Research_Staff/Yu_Y_Eugene_Ph_D).

The PI's laboratory is fully equipped for the main components of our research program, including chromosome engineering. RPCI offers an outstanding scientific environment including shared-core facilities equipped with state-of-art instrumentation and an international reputation for research excellence. RPCI is located in Western New York, about 20 min. and 1.5-hour driving to Niagara Falls and Toronto, respectively. Ideal candidates should have a recently obtained PhD degree with the experience in molecular biology techniques and the research interests in genetic dissection of Down syndrome phenotypes. Interested applicants should forward a cover letter with the description of research interests and experience, curriculum vitae, and contact information of three references to: yuejin.yu@roswellpark.org
