Postdoctoral Position in Biochemistry and Structural Biology available: Department of Biology, Indiana University, Bloomington
We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to over-express and purify huntingtin protein in complex with Huntingtin-interacting protein 1 for X-ray structure determination. The successful candidate must possess a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field and have experience in maintaining mammalian cell lines, transfection, and purifying large quantities of protein. The candidate must also be able to create mutants for crystallization and biophysical studies. The candidate will also perform intensive screening for crystallization conditions to produce diffraction quality crystals. The candidate must be hard driving, self-motivated and detail oriented to make rapid progress. The successful candidate must also have good interpersonal and communication skills. The salary is commensurate with qualifications with funding available for one year.
