Applications are invited to work on a MRC-funded one-year project on 3D collagen nanofibrous scaffolds for cell biology and tissue engineering. The work will be mainly carried out in the Biomaterials Engineering Group based in the Department of Oral & Dental Science.
The successful candidate will be involved in the development of 3D collagen nanofibrous scaffolds and hop to Professor Anthony Hollander’s Tissue Engineering Group based in the Department of Cellular & Molecular Medicine to carry out the biological assessment of produced 3D biomimetic collagen matrices using bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs). Candidates should have a PhD in materials, chemistry, biology or biomedical engineering. Candidates with the knowledge of electrospinning and tissue engineering will be advantageous.
