Applications are invited for two post-doctoral positions in a productive and interactive laboratory, with diverse expertise and access to a wide range of specialised equipment, within the Research Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology, University College London.
The posts, which are 3-year positions funded by the Wellcome Trust, will involve investigation of the role of C-type natriuretic peptide in regulating mammalian cardiovascular homeostasis. The successful candidates will join a team of young scientists investigating the physiological roles and pathological dysfunction of guanylate cyclase enzymes and cyclic GMP signalling. This project will encompass a number of in vitro and in vivo pharmacological techniques, including animal models of cardiovascular disease and a novel conditional gene knockout. The posts would be ideally suited to post-doctoral associates with 0-4 years previous experience. The applicant should have a broad background in in vitro and/or in vivo pharmacology, but specifically expertise in measurement of cardiovascular parameters. An interest in nitric oxide/natriuretic peptide/cyclic nucleotide signalling pathways would be beneficial.
The post is fixed-term for 3 years. For a successful applicant, with a PhD and previous postdoctoral experience, starting salary will be on Grade 7 in the range of £27,466 plus £2649 London Allowance to £30,013 plus £2649 London Allowance.
