Postdoctoral Research Associate
A postdoctoral position is available at University College London’s Institute of Ophthalmology to study the molecular mechanisms of blood vessel and nerve growth. The project will focus on the notch signalling pathway and provide training in a wide range of techniques in the areas of molecular and cell biology. Duties will include functional analysis of delta/notch signalling in neuronal development, performing biochemical analyses, tissue culture and immunohistochemistry. Experience in molecular and developmental biology and a PhD in a biological or biochemical discipline is essential.
The starting salary is £28,290 plus a £2,649 London allowance per annum (UCL Grade 7, spine point 30). The post is for 1 year in the first instance and is a shared appointment between the laboratories of Professor David Shima in the Division of Ocular Biology and Therapeutics and Dr Christiana Ruhrberg in the Division of Cell Biology.
