You will join a team led by Dr Graham Pavitt studying the molecular mechanisms that regulate protein synthesis. The project involves characterising protein phosphorylation events that regulate the translation factor elF2B in response to nutritional stresses in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
The project funded by BBSRC will be carried out within state-of-the-art research facilities and a stimulating 5 research environment. You will be a member of a vibrant research community in which interactions between researchers considering diverse problems are strongly encouraged.
You must hold a PhD, with at least one first author publication in an internationally recognised journal. Experience in general molecular biology and protein purification techniques is necessary, with yeast genetics and other biochemistry related experience desirable.
This position is available immediately for 12 months.
