Postdoctoral Research Assistant
£27,466-£30,013 pa
An enthusiastic and self-motivated biochemist is required to add their expertise to a team investigating the identification of endogenous bioactive substances relating to neurodegeneration. The scientist will join a research group led by Professor Susan Greenfield and will need to have demonstrable practical experience in the areas of protein isolation, purification, and characterization particularly of small polypeptides. The project is funded by the James Martin 21 st Century School. Together with a PhD in a relevant discipline, it is essential that the successful candidate has previous experience in protein biochemistry.

The post is available to start from 1 st October 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter and is funded for two years in the first instance by the James Martin 21st Century School. Applicants should have strong oral and written communication skills with a good publication record.
