Postdoctoral Research Scientist (Ref: PDE/ST1)
A position is available for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to study the molecular mechanisms underlying the rapid, nongenomic actions of steroids (see Srivastava et al., J. Neuroscience, 2006) within the research team of Dr Peter Evans in the Inositide Laboratory (http://www.babraham.ac.uk/research/signalling/evans/index.htm). The project involves the characterization of the site of interaction of steroids and catecholamines with a range of different G-protein coupled receptors from vertebrates, Amphioxus and Drosophila and an investigation of the detailed signalling mechanisms of the receptor. The project is supported by a BBSRC Industrial Partnership Award with Pfizer Animal Health. Applicants must have a PhD in molecular biology and display knowledge or interest in receptor signalling.
