ROLE DESCRIPTION

Responsible For: Assistant Client Project Manager

Background
 
This is an exciting and challenging role requiring an experienced Senior Client Project Manager to work in partnership with the developers design and construction team in the early phases of a new developing University.
 
· Work within a clearly defined Project Management approach and ethos within the team and ensuring adherence to the recognised Project Management methodology throughout the division in accordance with the Division defined standard.
 
· The role will require flexibility and for the initial phases the specific requirements will be to form a project management partnership between Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and the developer Suzhou Industrial Park Education Development Investment (SIPEDI).
 
· Undertake day to day liaison with SIPEDI (Landlord & Developer) working in partnership to provide buildings in accordance with XJTLU1’s (tenants) requirements.
 
· Liaise with XJTLU Client users as necessary.
 
· Attend all meetings as required by the Developer and by the Director of Campus Development.
 
· Provide weekly reports for the Director of Campus Development on progress, quality and issues requiring resolution.
 
· In partnership with SIPEDI ensure that all buildings will achieve international codes of practice in relationship to Health & Safety legislation and access for disabled as well as those relevant to PRC.
 
· Review, in detail, all SIPEDI’s design proposals & manage programmes to ensure decisions on design proposals are discussed and agreed with XJTLU and confirmed with SIPEDI.
 
· In partnership with SIPEDI undertake necessary inspection of construction to ensure Quality, Health & Safety and all international legislative standards will be achieved with the completed building and that the building is built according to XJTLU requirements. Advice on requirements for advice from specialist consultants particularly related to research laboratories and work in partnership with SIPEDI to deliver these.
 
· Oversee all fit out contracts to include furniture, specialist equipment etc.
 
· Oversee all arrangements for hand over of building (or phases) and ensure that XJTLU staff are trained & that all safety certificates are completed and operating manuals are in place.
 
· Undertaking post completion evaluation of works and taking corrective action as necessary for future projects.
 
· Deputise for the Director of Campus Management as required.
 
· Any other related duties which may be required in delivering the full remit of Campus Management.
