A postdoctoral position is available to join XENOME, a EU-funded research initiative whose objective is to generate the necessary data to allow xenotransplantation to progress closer to its initial clinical phase.
Tools that will be used to reach the XENOME ambitious objectives encompass state-of-the-art biomolecular technologies and pre-clinical in vivo models. This exciting work will be possible through a multidisciplinary collaboration with top scientists in the field of immunology, transplantation, genetic engineering, biosafety and physiology in Europe.
The successful candidate will join the Transplant Immunology Unit at University of Padua-Padua Medical Center, where basic research and preclinical studies assessing renal, islet and neuronal xenotransplantation will take place.
Applicants are expected to have a strong background in immunology, to be highly motivated, creative and capable of contributing productively in a team environment. Excellent communication skills in oral and written English are essential. Individuals with good expertise in molecular biology will be preferred. The position is available for 2 years and is renewable.
