At the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC/WHO) in Lyons, France, within the Epidemiology and Biology Cluster (EBC), the overall objectives of the Infections and Cancer Epidemiology (ICE) Group are to investigate the burden of cancer related to infections, and the risk factors related to these cancers in human populations. These objectives are achieved through international epidemiological studies, with a large part of studies carried out in developing countries.
Postdoctoral opportunities are available within the ICE Group to work on epidemiologic projects including on human papillomavirus, human immunodeficiency virus, hepatitis viruses, and helicobacter pylori in different cancer sites.
These opportunities are initially for one year with possibility of extension for one further year and are suitable for candidates who have a Ph.D. in epidemiology, or other relevant field. Good working knowledge of epidemiologic methods and ability to conduct statistical analyses are required. The stipend is currently approximately 32,000 Euros per year. Travel expenses to Lyon will also be covered. The primary working language at IARC is English.
Applicants should send a CV, including list of publications and a description of previous research experience, as well as the names and addresses of two academic referees, to:
