Postdoctoral Scientists in Cell Cycle Research

The Paterson Institute is a leading cancer centre of excellence core-funded by Cancer Research UK and is an Institute of The University of Manchester.
 
Two three year position are available in the laboratory of Professor I. M. Hagan to study how fission yeast cells control entry to mitosis and how these controls are altered to accommodate changes in the environment. The project will employ a diverse range of techniques to study key cell cycle regulators. Mass spectrometric analysis of phosphorylation sites will be followed by genetic, biochemical and imaging approaches to address the functional significance of these sites. The successful applicants should have a PhD in cell biology, biochemistry, genetics or molecular biology and a background in biochemistry and/or cell biology.
