The EEWRC is the first research center of the Cyprus Institute (CyI, www.cyi.ac.cy). The Center is rapidly becoming an important research resource for the Eastern Mediterranean, Middle East and North Africa addressing energy, environment and water issues and is being established in close collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The EEWRC solicits applications for a post-doctoral fellow interested in biological oceanography. Preference will be given to candidates interested in biological remote sensing, plankton ecology and systematics, microbial oceanography, marine genetics, and/or marine ecosystem modelling. The available position is expected to augment current investigations of climate impacts on marine ecosystems in the eastern Mediterranean. The appointment will be for a fixed term of initially two years with an option for extension. Candidates should have a PhD in natural sciences, experience in the laboratory and in the field, and the ability to go on short research cruises.
