We invite applications for a PhD position within the School of Physics and Applied Physics
at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore . The successful applicant will join the Ultra
Cold Atoms research group. Applicants should have completed their diploma/master thesis,
preferably in experimental atomic physics or quantum optics (However exceptional candidates with a bachelor degree can be considered as well). Experience in laser stabilization, ion/neutral atom trapping, electronics, or ultra-high vacuum techniques are favorable.
The project aims towards the development of an atomic chip based system suitable for applications for quantum information processing including the generation of Bose-Einstein condensates.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to attend international conferences
in US/Europe/Asia and will play a vital role in the progress of the project.
Scholarships are available to start from mid 2009. The project is well funded with postdoctoral
