We wish to appoint a Post-doctoral Research Accociate to work on a RCUK Basic Technology funded project to develop extremely sensitive dynamic sensing technologies for measuring the mechanical activity of both biological and man-made microsystems in aqueous environments.
This project involves the integration of high speed video imaging within holographic optical tweezers in order to develop a new kind of acoustic sensor. Of the three RAs working on this project, this post will be dedicated to the technical realisation of the microfluidic engineering aspects of the technique with some associated biological and acoustic sensor measurements.
You will be either an Engineer, Biologist or a Physical Scientist who has experience in microfluids/Lab-on-a-Chip, fluid mechanics or the measurement of mechanical properties of for example, cells (e.g. using MEMS of AFM)
Informal enquiries should be make to Professor JM Cooper (email: jmcooper@elec.gla.ac.uk).
