A postdoctoral position is available in the research group of Dr. Craig Benham at the UC Davis Genome Center. We recently have used our computational methods to investigate the roles that stress-induced destabilization of the DNA duplex play in diverse regulatory processes in bacteria. In our currently funded project we will extend these studies to eukaryotes, and enhance the computational methods to treat a variety of other effects. The successful candidate will take a lead role in these studies.

 

Term is three years with the possibility of renewal; start date ASAP.

 

The successful applicant must have a PhD in physics, biophysics, applied math, computer science, bioinformatics, structural biology, or a related field. Ability to program (e.g. in Python, C, or Perl) is essential.
